Write mathematical notation

Use a single pair of dollar signs for inline math and a double pair for a displayed equation. The editor keeps the LaTeX source while showing the rendered result in Visual mode.

Markdown syntax

The Generic profile keeps the math delimiters in Markdown while rendering the notation in Visual mode.

Inline math: $a^2 + b^2 = c^2$

$$
\int_0^1 x^2 \,dx = \frac{1}{3}
$$

Edit in Visual

Try the formula in the editor, then switch to Source to inspect the original delimiters.
